Oooh life. It’s a difficult thing to balance. There has been little time outside of work for any side projects lately. I have however managed to squeeze this thing out during my commute in the mornings and evenings. It’s made in this amazing iPhone/iPad app called NanoStudio. Jolly good fun. Do check it out.
This music making malarkey is fun! So much fun, in fact, I decided to try and make another song and video Enjoy!
Oh and I’ve set up a SoundCloud account too. Check it out here: http://soundcloud.com/chipstroganoff
Soo… after making “Sausage Baby Surprise” I wanted to try to mix sculpture with plush toy. What came out was this marionette-puppet-thingie. With that it seemed to be a good idea to make a video. So me and my lovely lady spent a whole Sunday running around London shooting whatever footage we could think of. So what should we use this footage for, we thought? Since there’s not really any coherency in the video and it’s all a bit random a music video seemed fitting. But we didn’t have any music… so I decided to try and make some! “Ooo” is going to be my new alter-ego in the music realm, from now on
Update: Scratch that. “Ooo” was already being used by somebody else. Great music, btw. You should check him out. Anyway, so from now on I’ll go ahead and use my old VJ alter-ego “Chipstroganoff”
This idea has been bubbling in my mind for quite some time. But it wasn’t until recently I managed to take the time to try it out! Playing around with projectors is so much fun!
The way that it works is basically, I set up a clay model in front of a mounted mini projector. I then traced the outline of the model by drawing it on the PC using Photoshop. Later I used Flash to program and animate the whole thing. You just got to make sure the projector or the model never moves while you make the whole thing
It’s quite simple really but there are so many things you could do with this idea!
There are plenty of ways to spend ones afternoons. There was a period of my life I choose to spend a series of afternoons hidden away in front of my computer machine. With my computer machine I constructed a tool. A tool that would help me to visualize the beats flowing from a DJ’s turntable through a set of speakers normally placed in a club type venue.
This style of visualization usually go by the term VJ-ing (visual jockey…-ing). It was a rather short lived hobby, but perhaps one night the flashing images of CHIPstroganof will pulse to the beats of hard trance once again.
“Conrad, Herman and Stig are three confused young adults who have been living in a screwed up reality during the past years, thanks to their heavy drug abuse. This has resulted in debts to Gösta and his crew that show up one day to demand their money back.”
Please observe that the language used in this film is Swedish. Although there are English subtitles you can download. The thing is that you’ll also have to download the film in order to use the subtitles.
